Choosing the perfect location for your lifestyle photography session is just as important as picking your outfits or deciding on a date. The setting helps tell your story—it sets the tone, brings out natural interactions, and adds a special touch to your photos. Whether you're aiming for cozy and intimate or wide-open and adventurous, here are some of the best locations to consider for your next lifestyle photoshoot in (Your Area).
- From wide-open fields to shaded trails and quiet woodlands, local parks offer a peaceful and natural setting. They’re especially great for families with young kids—think giggles, running, and playtime while I capture the candid magic.
Bonus Tip: Parks during golden hour (just before sunset) offer the dreamiest lighting for photos.
- Home is where your real life happens. It’s where your baby takes their first steps, where family dinners happen, and where snuggles on the couch are part of your everyday. In-home sessions are perfect for capturing the authentic rhythm of your family life in the most relaxed and meaningful way possible.
Perfect for: Newborn sessions, family routines, baking together, or cozy seasonal shoots.
- If you’re near a beach or lake, this can be an incredible backdrop. The soft sand, rolling waves, and warm light during sunset create a serene and whimsical atmosphere—ideal for playful, barefoot fun and tender moments.
What to bring: A light blanket, a change of clothes (especially for kids!), and a willingness to get a little sandy or wet.
- Urban settings offer a cool, modern vibe with lots of textures, colors, and personality. Whether it’s a graffiti-covered wall, a cozy coffee shop corner, or cobblestone streets, downtown areas bring a creative flair to your shoot.
This is great for: Seniors, couples, or families who love a city-chic feel.
- Depending on the season, flower fields and orchards bring a stunning pop of color and an ethereal feel to your photos. Think spring blooms, summer sunflowers, fall apples, or even a Christmas tree farm.
Tip: Seasonal spots tend to book fast, so planning ahead is key! FYI: The Berry Farm has their wild flowers and sunflowers field. IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!! Check out their Instagram. 🤩
Some spots I am looking forward to shooting at this year:
- the beach
- a skating ring
- the street
- a flower shop
